The Voice of the Lebanese Business Climate Act

  • As representatives of Lebanon’s major institutions and businesses, we echo the concerns of the leaders of the world who adopted the Paris Agreement on climate change in realizing that dangerous climate threatens our ability and the ability of future generations to live and thrive in a peaceful and prosperous world.

  • We also realize that delaying action on climate change will be costly in economic and human terms, while accelerating the transition to a low-carbon and climate resilient economy will not only reduce the risks of climate change but also deliver better growth and sustainable development.

  • As a result we affirm our strong engagement to a safe and stable climate and take our share of responsibility in the global and national fight.

  • We are engaged to reduce our environment and carbon footprint and to strengthen not only our companies’ but also societal and economical resilience. We will act as embassadors for climate action, focusing on solutions and economic opportunities and we are ready to take action through work with our partners, clients and stakeholders to help deliver practical climate solutions,

  • Joining the Act does not oblige companies to any specific amount of emission reduction.

  • Each company will determine its own level of engagement according to its priorities and resources.

  • Companies that will join the Act will be invited to a series of capacity building events that will assist their teams to scope their engagement, assess their situation, calculate their carbon footprint and plan the company’s climate action.
