BECOME A MEMBER
Joining the Lebanon Climate Act does not oblige companies with any financial commitment, nor are members to any specific amount of emission reduction. Each company will determine its own level of engagement according to its priorities and resources.
Companies that will join the Act will be invited to a series of capacity building events that will assist their teams to scope their engagement, assess their situation, calculate their carbon footprint and plan the company’s climate action.
LCA Support Unit Obligations:
1- Promote members climate action and providing them with exposure nationally, regionally, and internationally.
2- Provide capacity building to members on how to develop climate actions and implement them.
3- Provide technical assistance to members in formulating their climate action plans, such as assisting members in filling up technical sheets and/or carbon footprint calculator to determine their climate action potential.
4- Assist members in implementing their climate action plans, such as linking them with service providers to facilitate the implementing of plans, provide information on available financial mechanisms that facilitate financing of members’ climate action, etc.
Members’ Obligations:
1- Sign of the LCA Pledge.
2- Add the LCA logo to their social media and website (if available)
3- Posting a hard copy of the LCA declaration in their office in a visible way in their premises.
4- Calculate their carbon foot print within six months from signing the pledge.
5- Develop and submit a climate action plan within 18 months from signing the pledge.
6- Demonstrate progress in implementing the action plan on annual basis.
